Massive Update - Version 2.0 Launch
Hello, Internets.
So I have been hard at work the last few weeks making massive improvements to the tracker. For starters, I completely overhauled a lot of the back end, basically remaking everything except the data and icons from scratch. So now, things are much more modular. Most of that, you will never see, but it's been an incredible learning experience filled with long nights and banging my head against the wall at times, trying to figure out why things aren't working. But once they finally started clicking, there's no better feeling in the world.
In terms of things you will see, and why it's relevant to you, I've added a new main menu system with level select, options menus, and just spending a lot of time prettying things up in the UI. Adding quality of life improvements and fixing bugs. Check the change log to see a full list.
Perhaps most importantly, I added saving and loading to the system. Most settings and slot data should now persist. So unlike a lot of trackers, you'll be able to retain your tracking data in between sessions, even if the app is closed out. Same applies for notes. This is something that's still relatively new for me, so I'd advise testing it out before committing to using it for a run you care about. I wrote up tons of documentation within the app for how it all works, including known issues, and explaining features you probably wouldn't think are there. Case in point, you can show or hide icons on a per-dungeon basis directly from the same window, as opposed to backtracking to another page.
Most of the architecture is built at this point, so future updates will largely be content-driven. Hopefully, that means I can churn out new versions faster, building on the existing structure. Thank you to all the people who agreed to be early testers and give feedback. I hope to continue improving this app even more with your help and support.
As always, you can find me on the Serket Studios Discord if you have suggestions or to report issues. And if you enjoy this tool, please consider giving our studio a follow on social media and spreading the word to others that you think will benefit from it.
